With permission to post, I have been trying to obtain information for a
new client concerning the risk of continuing breastfeeding with daily
exposure to formaldehyde as a Pathology Resident. She does not anticipate
the exposure until the baby is 7 months old. I have found nothing in the
archives with any research to back it up. This mother anticipates
frequent handeling (with gloved and possibly double gloved hands) of
tissue specimens, all day long. She states that they do not wear any type
of mask/respirator when working on the items, they do have a fan to help
circulate the air. Does anyone have any information to share?

Thanks,
Brenda Dalton RNC IBCLC
