Dear Lactnet Friends:

This article makes sense to me.  We don't know anything about the impact of
molecules of medication that come through the milk on the growing child.
We are finding out by prescribing the medications and seeing what happens
because we can't ethically do RCTs on dyads.

Compatible is an important concept too; it doesn't seem from clinical
usage, that many drugs have a negative impact on milk production nor the
infant

However, if the ideas expressed in the opinion are used to drive parents
toward formula, it will be awful.

I believe that mother's milk with a few molecules of a prescription
medication in it has to be better than formula.
