As an LLLL and mother of two children, one of the traits I look for in a
Pediatrician is one that good parents and teachers has. The ability to say
"I don't know, and I'll (let's) find out."

I expect professionals to keep current, especially when their main
organization makes a public statement on a particular subject (like the
recent AAP statement).

The pediatricians I have chosen to use treat me with respect as the mother
of their patients and as a resource for information about lactation. I do
have to admit I enjoy helping to educate the physcians I come in contact
with about breastfeeding and mothering through breastfeeding.

In my experience the breastfeeding advice given is directly related to the
physicans experience with breastfeeding on a more personal level such as
the physcian's experience or if male his wife's experience. JMNSHO>
