You know, I hate to do this, since it's not terribly lactation related, but
since it's affecting my work and making me question whether I'll keep this
job, I'll give it a shot.
Is it possible to get a yeast infection on your
hands from wearing gloves for long periods of time (about 6-8 h, when doing
numerous
baby admissions)? My hand "eczema", which I've had for about 2 months, has
not responded in the least to any steroid cream... I'm losing 2 fingernails,
and itching like crazy. It's not directly latex related; I know it has to be
from
the sweating I do while wearing gloves of any kind for long
periods of time. Since I've had trouble with yeast in the past, on a lark I
tried some lotrimin cream on my hands, and they really do look a bit better
today. Any thoughts? I really do hate wearing gloves when working with moms,
esp when assisting with breastfeeding (sends the wrong message, imho), but I
can't do it with oozing, yuckky hands.
Thanks--
