Wise folks in Lactnet Land,
A mother of a 3 month old returned to school last week. She
breastfeeds when they are together but he gets abm while she is gone.
Dairy allergies BIG time on father's side, so used soy abm. (She didn't
ask me!)
This week the baby has "a virus" with raging diarrhea. Off abm
and on pedialyte--still bf in the evenings. The question is what abm
this baby could use when they return to manufactured milk? Grandma--who
bf all of her children--is suggesting rice or goat milk, but is this
nutritional enough? Are there abms based on these?
Pumping is not an option for this mother.
I await your words of wisdom....
