Since we were just on this topic I wanted other people's thoughts on this.  
When these babies are tested with biopsy, GI doctors often find large numbers 
of eosinophils from the inflammed areas.  I know there are eosinophilic 
disorders of other areas of the GI tract.  I read that eosinophilic esophagitis was 
unheard of until about 1994.  Here is a quote from an article in Family 
Practice News, July 1 2000:  "Eosinophilic esophagitis is something we really did not 
see 15 or 20 years ago. Now we're seeing an explosion of this," said Dr. 
Hyams, head of the department of digestive diseases and nutrition at Children's 
Medical Center, Hartford, Conn.

The current epidemic of autism started around the same time.  Autistic 
children are notorious for colitis also, it has been called "autistic colitis."  Is 
there a factor in common here?  I'm passionate about this as a mother of a 
child who experienced allergic colitis, FTT, and developmental delays.  But I 
really wonder if anyone else has considered this possibility.
