Does anyone have any information regarding fungal infections of the nipple
and areola which can cause the nipple to have decreased blood supply and
turn black while pumping or having a let down? My patient who has been
diagnosed with this is being told by the infectious disease doctor who is taking
care of her to throw away her 200 oz of stored frozen breast milk. Any
comments or help will be much appreciated.

Thank you,

Erin Michel, RNC, IBCLC
