Barbara states: So hand washing is
essential, not hand sanitizing.

Yes, Barbara I could not agree with you more. I work at a hospital and in
every room they have the hand sanitizers. I dont use them at all ever. I
always wash my hands and use a paper towel to turn off if it not operated by
foot. Why? Because part of the way to remove bugs is the actual scrubbing
of ones hands. Basic (nursing 101). It was drilled into us and am glad it was.

Second, when I touch a baby I don't want to get any alcohol into their eyes,
mouth, or any other part of their little bodies. I am usually touching the
mouth area anyway looking for tt as part of my first assesment.

Sorry you are ill. Am wishing you a speady recovery. Thank you for sharing.
It is a reminder to us all to WASH hands all of the time, every time.

I don't wear my wedding ring anymore, not even watches because of the
potential bug catching /spreading it may cause. Of course short fingernails
and no polish. I think that is pretty much standard in most hospitals these
days.

Best wishes,
robin
