<< I
asked the nursery nurse to have peds look at the frenulum but I guess
she never did.>>

if your peds 'aren't willing to clip frenulums', then find someone who
is. Look long and hard. Give good info on TT to ENT's, Peds,
Dentists, midwives, ob's. you never know who might be willing to do
it. We now have an ENT who will do it same day we call but it took
some work to get there. My girls ped dx'd an acquaintances baby and
said 'it would need to be done some day as it's severe' but never
connected it with the extreme feeding difficulties mom and baby were
facing.

I wrote her a long email with all the important info....i have a great
relationship with her, she was willing to hear what I had to say. She
openely said that she didn't know a short frenulum could cause feeding
problemd (DIDN'T KNOW?!?!?) and she's interested in learning from the
ENT so she can do them on this side of town.

There's almost always someone who is willing to listen, interested in
learning......now to find that person:)

I always express to the mom that YEAH!!!! It's a tongue tie and it's
*so* fixable....that of all the feeding challenges to face, this is a
great one to have because it can be overcome. But mom needs to sense
the urgency of the situation.

<<I did an oral exam and
found no abnormality except a short frenulum that seemed to be tied
rater in the back of the tongue.>>

except? that is major issue and needs to be communicated as such -
one that interferes with feeding to a degree that usually makes a
successful bfeeding relationship impossible unless it is dealt with.

thank goodness it's easily dealt with once you get the right people
lined up. I lay out a time table for mom so she knows what to expect
in terms of improvement in the next 2 weeks.
