I am writting in regards to the post about the vegetairian mom who is geiving
her baby gas by wating so many beans (Pee-uuu).

This is just a suggestion, but it might be worth a try.

Whenever I have had something that may have had dairy in it, I take a
digestive enzyme. The idea behind this is that somethimes, our bodies do not
break a protein down into a complete amino acid, they remain in whole protein
form. My thought is that perhaps taking an enzyme would break the legume
protein down into an amino, causing less gastric disturbance in the baby.
The only problem I see here is that most digestive enzymes sold in pill or
capsule form have animal products in them. The other option then, is to try
papya, or concentrated papaya enzyme.

Again, this is just a thought, I am not really sure about how the beans pass
through in the mother's milk...i.e., are legume proteins detectable in whole
form in the milk, etc.

Good Luck,
Anne
