Your idea for having students prepare and DRINK formula in high school
science class is a good one. I once worked with a physician who maintained
that the first feeding should not be either sterile water or glucose
water. (In those days, that was the hot debate!) He said the first
feeding should be 4 ounces of formula...to the mother!!! He said that if
any mother could keep that down without throwing up, she had at least
made a somewhat informed consent!
