When I was at school 30 years ago we learnt that excess protein was removed
from the body by the kidneys and expelled in the urine.
So if formula has more protein in it than human milk, far from being an
advantage it probably explains why formula feeding results in more kidney
complaints if an infant's kidneys are being strained in this way.
(That's if the protein is being digested at all. only one stomach is a bit
of a disadvantage in digesting milk meant for an animal with four stomachs.
Apologies for this being rather old news)
Well, I hope one of you medically trained wise ones can pick up a nice well
paid scholarship to research and prove this idea.
