Hi again. Once again I have to add my .02 worth and add an exception, or
at least a comment on the recent posts concernig tooth decay/cavities
and breast feeding. I have 4 children all who breast fed, for increasing
longer periods of time (6 weeks, 6 months, 18 mos., 19 mos.) my first
child had good baby teeth but they were incredibly small. We were
informed that he was a prime canidate for braces, because obviously
there was going to be no room for his adult teeth. At 22, he has perfect
teeth, no cavities and no braces. #2 was mine who had silver teeth,
cavities galore in her baby teeth. Again, because the front ones were
crossed, braces were predicted. Now at 19, she too, has perfect teeth,
just had her first cavity and no braces. #3 & # 4, had small,
higgly-piggly baby teeth that are blossoming, once again, into fine,
straight adult teeth. I tend to think that genetics (both father & I had
wonderful teeth until braces put on) and the diet in the house are prime
considerations to look into. Once again, I must say, we are dealing with
humans and cannot put absolutes on human conditions. I also must inquire
of dentists, why they must question or implicate the most natural, pure
food, while not questioning the 'fake foods' out there that a good
portion of population 'believes' is food (this includes artificial baby
milks!). For consideration to all moms (new and experienced) facing HCPs
that present 'their' opinions as fact and/or their own personal favorite
'option' as the only choice of treatment, I recommend reading Diana
Korte's book "Every Womans Body," it is a good resource to empower and
open up options and considerations that may not be presented to us as
medical comsumers.

Just MHO & .02 worth, again . . .
