Dear Friends:
Karleen shares with us about a 15 month old, institutionalized for the
1st 10 months of her life. And heaven knows what sort of environment she was
gestating in!
Seems like this baby has gotten a break in finding parents willing to
parent 24 hours/day. Why not just bring the baby into the parental bed for a
while? And don't talk to folks about it? This baby maybe starting over and
acting like a newborn because she is getting "born" into her new life. If she
needs milk at night, what's the problem? Many breastfed toddlers are still
nursing lots at night; I never knew just how often mine were as I was
sleeping too.
I vote for giving these parents a hefty vote of confidence and letting
this baby be a baby.
     Warmly,
