One of the NICU moms that I work with talked with me yesterday about
her milk supply and how she and her daughter were doing. She asked me
to put this qustion out to you all because she wants to know if other
mothers are successful at producing milk for extended times.

Now, (as Paul Harvey would say) for the rest of the story.
R, was born at 23 weeks, she is now 37 weeks.
Mom is pumping 8 times a day and getting an average of 15cc total. She
has used Fenugreek once before and is using it now, but states that she
is not getting the increase in milk like she did before. R, has been
nursing with a shield for 3 weeks and yesterday the LC was going to
bring up a SNS.
Mom states that at this time she priced formulas. She wants to save
what breastmilk she's getting to use at home, because R hasn't been
exposed to home germs yet and wants that protection.
What she wanted to know from you all is, if your moms were able to
maintain a milk supply through a long emotion filled stay in the NICU?
When I return to work on Friday I will take her any of your replys.
Thanks for you indulgence. I told her how much information I get from
this net and how helpfull it has been.

I see there is another Esther out there, so just sign this one, Esther
from Michigan.
