How do you all feel about the liability insurance needs for those of us NOT
in private practice who occasionally help someone for free. If one does a
free lactation consultation without carrying liability insurance could one
still be sued and they win? If you help someone in Texas, you are covered
under the "Good Samaritan Law" where they can't sue you (like if you do CPR
and maybe break a rib on someone).

I know you all aren't lawyers, but I wonder what others do in these
situations?

Kathy Eng, BSW, IBCLC
