Dr. Jack,
I know this has been covered here before, but THANK YOU so much for your
wise, healthy attitude toward beginning solids (and everything else, for
that matter.)  I am firmly convinced that babies who begin to eat in the
manner you suggested have far fewer problems with choking (they don't eat
what they aren't ready for -- of course, parents have to be somewhat
vigilant), with refusing healthy foods, and with snacking on empty calorie
junk foods.
