I have spoken in many venues this last year. Most of them are WIC and there
are usually not a lot of babies present. I don't personally find the babies
distracting. I do think that Mother's with babies should be seated near the
back on an aisle so they can escape-much like my daughter sits in church with
her little guy. I do however HATE IT when people chit chat around me. I
also don't appreciate the women who shoot dagers at me when I politely ask
them to quiet down so I can hear. Apparently their needs supercede all
others. Cell phones and audible beepers also annoy me-especially when people
begin their conversations before they are out of the room. I'd rather hear a
giggle from a baby or even a cry and settling in noises than rude adults!
And my experience has been more rude adults than distracting infants.
