For those of you who waded through my terribly long two-part report of the
recent Ross stockholders' meeting, I have an idea. I cannot believe I am
even suggesting it, but the more I think about how I and the others were
treated, the more I feel we should create a groundswell of INSISTENCE on
required education on this point for all artificial baby milk comapnies.

I am suggesting (smack my hand) that each of us become a stockholder! This
will require only that you purche one share (currently the price for Ross
stock is $38-40.) When you are a stockholder, however, you also get all
their literature, including a proxy vote for the number of shares you have
so that you can vote your preference re: matters brought to the
stockholders.

If you are disinclined to do so because you feel as I do--such money is
tainted and not something you want to have come into your hands, house,
etc.--remember that you can do what one stock broker told me. Rather than
accepting dividends, you have have them applied to the purchase of
additional stock, which means greater voting power!

Think about it. I call this turning our mad into action they will listen
to: stockholders and their money!!!

PS I could tell the stockholders from the rest of us very easily
(forgetting my breastfeeding related bumper stickers). The real
stockholders all were driving Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and Cadillacs and
expensive German cars. Those of us supporting breastfeeding were in old
vans (child-inhabited and they looked it!), Mazdas and Saturns! Hm... Do
you suppose that is why the guards watched our cars so carefully? The
subversives were arriving???!!! :-)
