My question has always been - how does a pump, any pump, know that a mother
is pumping for a single, twins, triplets, or more? It doesn't. I would
say that this mother is probably doing the maximum given that she is
pumping only. I assume she is not yet putting babies to breast? The only
way she might begin to increase her milk is to do lots and lots of skin-to-
skin with all the babies to help increase her hormone levels. ASs babies
begin to nurse, this should also help increase milk production. I would
offer this mom lots of encouragement/reassurance/support in her efforts.
Remember, Reglan is not recommended for long-term use, which is what this
mom may need if she is going to resort to drugs.
