< Anyone have any ideas? Jean?>

Pretty much out of my league, Nikki. I have a dear friend who in the past
3 months has developed marked symptoms of congestive heart failure that
was probably coming on for a long time. So, in her interest, I am reading
up on it, feeding her ideas about questions to ask her doctor. Newspaper
article reporting on the Nov. 10 meeting of the American Heart
Association quoted research that medical practice has expanded so rapidly
that many physicians cannot keep up with the latest practices and that
many, may CHD patients are not being treated according to the standard
protocols now recommended, including appropriate tests on the venticular
function.

By logic, it seems to me that since milk is a product requiring raw
materials delivered to the interstitial fluid by the blood stream, that
if there were any deficiency in the ability of the heart to deliver
adequate circulation, it would have high potential for compromising the
milk making process. However, if I remember correctly, the mammary
arteries are some of the first arteries off of the aorta, so maybe they'd
get better circulation than, say, the liver or the legs (where she has
terrific edema). Just a guess though.
