I think most hospitals in my neck of the woods - New Orleans, LA, USA -
are breastfeeding UNfriendly. The LCs might be really BF friendly (the 3
of us are, we are currently nursing 1+, 2+, and , 3+ yr olds, all IBCLC
and very supportive) BUT the whole hosp. atmosphere, policies,
procedures, pediatricians, managers, etc may not be very pro-bf. We are
working slowly to improve. But I think the catalog advice about
contacting LLL is good advice. And I am not a leader or member, although
I have attended some meetings since becoming LC.
