Tinc benz co was used routinely in maternity hospitals for sore nipples in
Australia some 20-30 years ago. It is useful when applied in an actual crack
as it aids healing. (A friend of mine whose husband was an Olympic gymnast
used it on cracks in his hands for this purpose). The problem was that it
was often applied liberally all over nipples which were sore rather than
cracked, causing damage to healthy skin.

NMAA strongly worked to stop it being used because of its misuse. I am
interested that Bev Walker suggests that it is coming back to use in
hospitals in Australia. I had not heard this. I only hope that it is being
used wisely and not causing more problems than it solves.
