home births?  Is it the same pattern?

Esther - I wonder if we will ever see "normal" again.  How do I know what it
is if I have never seen it?  As for home births, I see interference there
too.  Some of the midwives take the baby instead of leaving it with the mom
(to weigh it, clear out the mucus, etc).  Some put their fingers in the
baby's mouth to sooth it; they even teach the parents to do it to stop any
crying.  That is upsetting and I did not expect it from midwives.  I
continue wondering:  Was it always like this, even in the caveman days?
