Here's the description from the NCEMCH site:

"A Review of the Medical Benefits and Contraindications to Breastfeeding in the
United States" (1997). This technical information bulletin was prepared by Ruth
Lawrence, M.D., Professor of Pediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynecology,
University of Rochester Medical Center. It presents current information on the
medical benefits of and contraindications to breastfeeding. Although
breastfeeding is ideal for infants' optimal growth, development, and emotional
well-being, it is important for health care professionals to be aware of those
rare situations in which mothers should be counseled not to breastfeed.
