In Maryland it is officially BREASTFEEDING MONTH!!!

I attended a Breastfeeding Walk today with 2 of my 3 co-Leaders and several
friends and a slew of kids. There was a proclamation by our governor
declaring August 1998 as Breastfeeding Month! Pretty Cool!

The walk was GREAT! It was at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore. It was
sponsored by WIC of Johns Hopkins University Hospital. This is the 3rd
year they have done it and it is quite a production. They provide a
healthy lunch for all participants, balloons for the kids, free children's
books, free water bottles with breastfeeding slogans, bottled water and
juice, and door prizes. For 2 years in a row, our LLL group has proved
very lucky. All of the people who came with us were awarded door prizes!
They gave away things for kids, moms, gift certificates, even some
breastpumps! We all took smaller things and left the pumps and such for
the WIC moms or others who "needed" them. I can't wait for next year!

Now that it is breastfeeding month, I need more breastfeeding promotion
tshirts. I have enough for a week, a month means lots more laundry!

Today all of our moms and babies and kids wore our BREASTMILK,IT DOES A
BABY GOOD Tshirts. They have a cute hand drawn baby with 12 advantages of
breastfeeding placed around the baby where anatomically correct. Better
vision is by the eyes, no stinky diapers is by the bottom, etc..They were
such a hit! We even sold 10 more while we were there.

Happy Breastfeeding Month!
