Hale rates Avelox L3 (yes, it is in there, with that spelling). He says
"Assuming a low milk/plasma ratio like in rodents, an infant would likely
ingest less than 120microgram/kg/day (theoretical). It is not likely that
this would produce a clinical effect in an infant, but changes in colonic
flora could occur ...Paediatric concerns: none via milk but observe for
diarrhoea in infant."
I suspect this doctor has been reading up on the effect this antibiotic can
have if used directly for children. Hale again: "generally contraindicated
in paediatric age patients due to arthropathy although they are occasionally
used in severe infections".
