I used it for varicose veins and hemmoroids. :-( I have a lot of
pain from the latter with long car trips so I start the Horse Chestnut
seed extract prior to the trip and take it throughout and it helps.
of course, I'd prefer a permanent solution. I don't take it all the
time since it doesn't seem like it will rid me of them completely,
it's not an issue most of the time and I just don't feel like adding
another supplement to my life.

I can't remember the safety issues of Horse chestnut extract in
lactation, but I know it's contraindicated in pregnancy. You might
try searching the archives from about 4 years ago for it in case I
brought it up while pregnant with my youngest. I think I wanted to
know *why* it was contraindicated.

While the mother is waiting for answers, she may wish to take lecithin
instead. I took-here's a random dose, sorry- about two
tablespoons/day, mixed into orange juice for the car trip I took while
pregnant, and I found it to be equally effective. You can buy
granules from your local healthy food store or Vitamin cottage type
place.

Your local food banks and shelters need your donations this winter.
It's because our economy is doing so well. :-/
