I have a mom who is experiencing multiple plugged ducts. One goes away, and
another in its place -- they are all over both breasts. She's miserable. In
fact, she was getting in the shower 8 to 9 times a day to be able to massage
the breasts with the hot water (skin getting a tad dried out!!). She's been
using a vibrator (thought she'd try that), taking lecithin -- all to no
avail. Now the baby, who had been gaining well, has dropped off (3 ounces in
the last 10 days -- he's about 5 weeks old), and I think milk supply has
diminished. She's terrified to increase milk supply, concerned that she's
going to get more plugs.

Her breasts are lumpy and painful. She's been examined twice by her
physician -- no abscess, just lumps. No mastitis. She tried ibuprophen
around the clock for 48 hours; no help. She's miserable.

Any suggestions to get rid of the lumps -- and what about increasing milk
supply???
