We have started to allow those moms who only get a little colostrum/milk to
stack by cooling the milk then once they get about 15ml to ounce they can
freeze it. They transport in small coolers with ice or freezer packs.
According to HUBANA the gel packs are colder than the ice.

Subject: Transporting Expressed Breastmilk
Hi all,
What do you tell new moms to do with frozen expressed colostrum when
transporting it to a tertiary center?
As this mom is usually only 2-3 days post partum, the amounts in each
container are very small. They are traveling about 50 miles. I usually
suggest a
small cooler with several freezer packs. Any other ideas? I am revising
our
policy and am interested in what others are advising.
TIA,
