When i was a lactation consultant wanabe, there were no formal preparation
courses. I studied for four months, four hours a day and took as many
continuing ed seminars, etc. as I could. It was a lot of work but well worth
it. You may want to hook up with a few other candidates and do a study group.


There are a couple good study guides out there to serve as inspiration.
