If tap water is the concern, why not use bottled sterile water for
heating the milk?  These bottles are often kept at the bedside when
being used for things like wound treatments.  If opened and poured
correctly, the water stays "clean" so a little can be used at a time
and the bottle can last several feedings (or 24 hours which is the
usual "toss time").
