Hi Everyone,

I have come across a few pregnant clients who have undergone "Scarless
Breast Reduction", and are wondering about their ability to breastfeed. This is
a new procedure in which a small tube is inserted in the bottom of the breast,
and then routed up to the subcutaneous fat at the top of the breast, in which
it then suctions out the existing fat. There is no cutting to the nipple, and
suposedly no disruption to the milk ducts.

Has anyone ever heard of this, or worked with a breastfeeding mother who
has had this particular type of reduction? Do any of you feel that this would
interfer with the mothers ability to produce milk?

I have placed a call to a practice in my area that performs this type of
reduction so I can learn as much about it as possible, but have been told I
need to schedule a consultation to discuss the procedure with the doctor.
Since I have no desire for a breast reduction, and am actually breastfeeding a
17 month old, I don't feel a consultation is necessary. But I want to know
more about this procedure so I can better educate or work with clients who
may have had this done.

Any information you have, or any experiences you can share would be
appreciated.
