I know two women personally who had uterine ruptures before they even went 
into labour. I guess maybe we should all move into the hospital during 
pregnancy "just in case."

It's interesting that in many provinces in Canada women have the option of 
home birth or hospital birth with midwives, paid for by the government 
national health plan. Canada does, by the way, have lower infant mortality 
rates than the US. Hmm...
