LOL.... this brought to mind a call I got about a week ago. A man called
and very haltingly (many stops and starts in his speech), tells me that his
girlfriend had weaned her baby around 7 years ago (I initially thought I'd
misheard and he meant 7 *months*, but no, he meant *years*. Anyway, he
wanted to know if it was possible for her to get her milk back. So I'm
thinking that maybe there is something wrong with the 7yo and he/she needs
breastmilk, but when I ask if there is any special reason that she needs to
re-lactate, he says, "well, no, but, um, we were just thinking that it'd be
kind of nice if she could breastfeed me" After I picked my jaw up off the
floor, I said, well, yes it would probably be possible to relactate, but I
like to focus my efforts on helping mothers breastfeed babies under 10
years old and that he could probably get information from the
internet. I had to laugh. Still not certain if it was a crank call, but
he did sound serious and he didn't block his caller id.
