Any input? Sure, tell her to tell her doctor that the doctor better do some
reading up. By the time a mother has symptoms, she already has passed the
virus to the child. The child's best protection is continued breastfeeding.

I wonder if the doctor has ever tried to forcibly wean a 2 year old?

You obviously didn't read my book, which does mention mono, The Ultimate
Breastfeeding Book of Answers (in the USA, Prima Publishing,
published in August 2000) or
Dr. Jack Newman's Guide to Breastfeeding (in Canada, HarperCollins
Publishing, published in February 2000).

Jack Newman, MD, FRCPC
