Keitha,
Advantages of breastfeeding for a mother with a neuromuscular disease
would include:
ability to feed while sidelying
ability to feed with infant in a sling type carrier
possible protection of the infant from autoimmune diseases like MG
no clean up or preparation work
increased ease of soothing baby (and toddler) to sleep
increased self reliance and empowerment
Hope they are willing to give her the choice, rather than making it for
her.
