I think the premise this statement may be based on is a similar one
involving IUD placement during breastfeeding.  What I have always heard (and
probably read, SOMEWHERE!) is that an IUD should not be placed during
breastfeeding since the uterine lining is thinner and weaker, thus
increasing the chance of perforation.

However, you know and I know many women carry another pregnancy
simultaneously with no difficulty. I think, for the most part, the body
knows how to protect itself.
