I've heard from some of the Lansinoh folks that Pigeon is being very
cooperative, and that owning Lansinoh labs is actually having a positive
effect on them. Do we have anyone from Japan on the list, who has been
able to follow Pigeon's advertising for the past few years?

It must be problematic to start a breastfeeding friendly company, only
to have it purchased by a non-Code compliant company. It might be
helpful for us to have a discussion about where to draw the line. For
example, Medela recently started marketing (glossy brochure aimed at
parents) their bottle and nipple kit. While it is not against the Code
to include bottles and nipples (teats) in with breastpumps, it is
against the Code to advertise them. We all realize that mothers who are
seperated from their infants need to feed them with something, but
glossy ads for them is a step over the line.

It would be ideal if LCs could be involved in the design of teats, but
then the company selling them would be sorely tempted to tout the
involvement of the LC.

What do you all think?
