Debbie,

The 1997 Breastfeeding Answer Book (LLL), in the section on plugged ducts, mentions that Dr. Ruth Lawrence recommends a teaspoon of Lecithin per day for mothers experiencing recurrent plugged ducts. There is no mention of negative effects on breastfeeding or breastmilk. As I understand, it's a polyunsaturated fat, usually derived from soy. Hope this helps.

Subject: Lecithin in Breastmilk...

I am just wondering if anyone has any information about the effects of Lecithin in breastmilk? I have a mom that really wants to take it, but I have not found anything about it. I have done a LACTNET search but haven't
gotten anything back yet.
