I had a phone call from a mom of a 3 1/2 week old who had been nursing with no problems for the first 3 weeks, good weight gain, diapers, etc. Mom states her milk "was completely gone" for 48 hours, now is back, but "clear, like water" and baby is vomiting each time she nurses her. She has given her formula the past 2 days with no vomiting. Mom states no medical problems, no meds other than prenatals, no trama/crisis, no food allergies, + breast changes,no unusal bleeding, and milk in on 3rd day. Interestingly, she says her mother "lost" her milk at 6 mos, then 4 mos with 2 other sibs. This Mom says this also happened with her 1st baby at 6 wks., she was very depressed over this happening and is now again facing the same problem.

Any ideas? She is most concerned and I am stumped. Thanks for any thoughts-
