The latest baby in our family was born to a former
gymnast.  The depth and length of training affected
puberty and hip formation.  The woman's OB warned her
that "vaginal birth may not be an option."  I don't
remember any mention of breastfeeding.

In this family case, I'm happy to report mom had a
vaginal birth last year and went on to exclusively
breastfeed her huge, sling-lovin' babe, even after her
return to work.  The breastfeeding continues to draw
comments back at work with a pump as co-workers
comment how amazing it is she "still has milk." 
Apparently another mother has raised the bar for
breastfeeding in her workplace, somewhere in the
southeast US!

I don't believe this mother had reason to question
breast development, but it was interesting to learn
the extent of athletic training early in life could
affect childbearing outcome.  And of course, it's all
related.....
