Glycolic acid is a type of Alpha Hydroxy Acid which is derived from
natural fruits and sugar cane. Repeated applications of alpha hydroxy
acids to the skin can help reduce sun induced aging (fine lines, pigment
spots and rougher scaly blemishes) which improves the overall texture
and smoothness of the skin.

A glycolic peel is a superficial exfoliant derived from fruit acids that
work well primarily on very fine lines and abnormal pigmentation.
