    my understanding is that this relies on "what does one so when there
swelling?" you apply cold to reduce swelling. heat will increase blood flow
and will increase swelling which is not what one wants.. this is true with
swelling in all other parts of the body so why would it beany different with
the breast?

    additionally, if there is too much swelling there is pressure on very
small (diameter) ducts and flow is restricted... if restriction is lessened,
flow will follow.
