Let me preface this email with a request that we do not click onto the
breastfeeding child web site. It is a site designed solely to attract
traffic and thus sell more products of various kinds. The more we visit it
to see what is on there, the higher their google ratings and the more likely
it is that their questionable information is getting out there.

So, I talked last night to Pinky McKay whose book appears numerous times on
that dubious breastfeeding child website, and she says :
"this is DEFINITELY NOT any site of mine - please could you post this on
lactnet.

I have just been alerted to this site by a mum - as I have listed my ebook
on clickbank, anyone can affiliate to it. I listed there so that affiliates
( genuine people such as midwives/childbirth eds etc who have websites can
resell and earn 50% commission -I never dreamt an idiot like this would try
to affiliate) . I simply wanted to allow breastfeeding info to be easily
shared and tried this as an alternative to my published books as the
commission I get of $2 a book is pretty slim pickings and I also have to
rely on stock being in bookshops which I have no control over - bookshops
here are stacked with crappy baby tamer advice eg Gina Ford and Tizzie Hall
who stuff up so many breastfeeding mums I am seeing as a private LC (IBCLC).
I hate to think people might even imagine this is my site - please alert the
lactnet readers to my real and only site- www.pinkymckay.com.au

Sadly anyone can link to any site and legally there is probably no action I
can take."
****
So although she knew that once you set up an e-book with the site that sells
it, anybody can become an "affiliate" and can link to the book on their
sites to boost sales, she has no control over the other content on the other
sites. She has only that one website, and is now going to mark it as her
"official" site.

In fact Pinky is a highly respected author of parenting books and conference
speaker in Australia, her books are listed with ABA and LLL, and her
information is about gentle parenting, listening to your baby etc. This
website is someone trying to cash in on her reputation while "hijacking" it
at the same time. The risks of using technology while trying to make a
legitimate living....
