OK, so if we are admitting where we got help, I have to weigh in with my
story postbirth (too many years ago to WANT to count!)

I had to pay to have rooming-in and of course it was in a private room
(meaning I had one bed and the newspapers got stacked on the OTHER empty
bed). The nurses pretty much ignored me except to tell me NOT to change
the baby's diaper on the weighing scale (she had done so, so I followed
suit, worried all the while that the baby might wiggle off and end on the
floor!) ACK!!!

The person who gave me the MOST information was the cleaning lady. On the
third of the four day stay I had (that is a dead give away how long ago it
was, right?).

The last comment by the head nurse when Doug had to stay 2 extra days
(jaundice, you know) and she sent me home with a bicycle horn breast pump,
which she said I was to use whenever I felt like it, was "now don't worry a
bit about him. He will get the very best of care." (I wondered a lot
about that since he had been rooming in with me from the start.) I
understand she finally retired....
