In my local newspaper this morning, in the medical column by Dr. Paul
Donohue, appeared a general question about how much Vitamin D the body
requires daily. This was not a question related to breastfeeding, but it
gives the info many have been requesting lately on Lactnet:

"The sun's ultraviolet rays convert substances in the skin to vitamin D.
Exposure of the face and arms to the sun for five to 10 minutes three times
a week is sufficient to generate enough vitamin D to fulfill vitamin D
requirements."
