Kristin,
I'd ask for references! Let me tell you that thrush does occur in adult
mouths, more often than we think. I've had oral thrush at least 3x in the
last three years. passed it on to my significant other. Every time I get
major dental work, which is extremely stressful to me, I get thrush. I've had
to use Diflucan, oral Mycelex troches and some mouth rinse which is
prescription only every time. I also have had raging cases passed back and
forth between myself and the current nursling. There is lots of new
information on thrush in adults; what about the rate of incidence in HIV or
AIDS patients. I don't think that idea of passing mom's saliva to baby is a
good one. I have just finished an article for Breastfeeding Abstracts and one
of the studies I reference is a from JADA (dental assoc) on adult thrush.
