Halle,

How does one find such a physician to refer to? I have seen alot of this, to be honest... women who have a "low normal" level, but cannot make milk and for no other reason. It's hard to get a doc who will even agree to trial a supplemennt just to see if it would work.

Subject: Re :thyroid issues

Hi all,
As a person with chronic thyroid issues, I can tell you that among the
"negatives" are lovely little things like substantially decreased bone density
(studies indicate average of 13% lower than women not on thyroid supplements), and
an increased impairment of the gland itself, as it becomes dependent on the
supplements to do its work. Very important to find a doctor who does not treat
the patient as a statistic when comparing her bloodwork to the lab normal
range. Need someone who looks at the patient and what she's going through
symptomatically, regardless of her lab values.
