Hi All,
Thought I'd throw in my .02...
When I talk about my BF experience with my first son it always comes out (and
not deliberately, really!) "I only breastfed Chris for 14 months. I wish I
had had more info back then." Now "back then" I was 19 when I had Chris, and
didn't have a clue about BF other than I enjoyed it. Now at 30 (ULP!) with a
26 mo old still BF (with not a heck of a lot there) and 6 mo pregnant with my
3rd, I proudly say "Of course I am still BF Ben. After the baby is born
though he's going to have to learn to share! Won't that be interesting??" I
get some funny looks, and some rude comments (especially from my side of the
family), but so far no one has said anything about calling CPS. I think it
is sad that so many moms feel that they have to be "closet nursers".
I said a while back "Please don't be a closet nurser. It's too dark and
there is too much junk in the closet!"
I stand by that and tell my moms to be proud of the time they spend BF their
children. Hopefully, someday there will be closet ABM feeders (Feeding ABM
for NOT medical reasons) instead, and BF will be the norm. Wouldn't it be
nice to see the ABM companies have to find something else to make because
there is NO demand for their slop? Dream away.....

Take it easy!
Jay
